After you’ve had a chance to feed them their fruits, veggies, and grains for the day, it’s time to indulge their sweet teeth with some simple dessert recipes that are fast, economical, and most importantly, delicious!
The best kids dessert recipes incorporate their favorite flavors in a treat that is low-fat, and free of refined sugars and artificial ingredients. It is completely possible to make desserts for kids that taste great, and don’t spike blood sugar or leave them bouncing off of the ceilings.
If your child loves chocolate, try using raw cacao powder, which tastes incredibly good and will actually give them a healthy dose of antioxidants to ward of illness and disease. Use dates to sweeten quick and easy dessert recipes, and opt for non-dairy milks to cut down on saturated fats.
Here are some wonderful dessert recipes for kids that will leave them wanting more, and you won’t have doubts about serving
- 2 cups raw cashews, soaked
- 8 medijool dates, seeded and soaked
- 1 cup coconut meat
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ½ water, or more to liquefy
- Shredded coconut for garnish
Mix all ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth and creamy. Spoon into individual bowls and garnish with shredded coconut. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes and then serve.
